Chris Richardson Receives William L. Keating Outstanding Alumni Award
Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP partner Chris Richardson was honored with the William L. Keating Outstanding Alumni Award at DU Law Stars, a program of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law Alumni Council, which unites DU Law alumni and the Denver legal community in a celebration of remarkable individuals who have made lasting contributions to the field of law and legal education.
“It is an honor to receive such a prestigious award,” said Mr. Richardson. “To be among such a highly regarded class of past recipients is a humbling experience.”
“I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award,” said Chad Williams, co-managing partner at DGS. “Chris is a pillar of the Denver legal community, having served as managing partner at DGS for 15 years. His dedication to the community, clients, and the law is evident in the firm we are today.”
Mr. Richardson is a 1983 graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and joined DGS that same year where his practice has focused on mergers and acquisitions and corporate financing and restructuring work. In connection with the restructuring work, Mr. Richardson has substantial experience in Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters. He has worked with secured and unsecured creditors, debtors, and creditors’ committees in numerous Chapter 11 proceedings. Mr. Richardson has lectured on acquisition agreements, deal structures, debtor-creditor issues, including the impact of bankruptcy on environmental laws, lessor-lessee relationships in bankruptcy, bankruptcy current developments, and asset sales in a bankruptcy.

In addition, Mr. Richardson has substantial experience in transactions involving oil and gas and coal companies in both the context of purchase and sale transactions as well as day-to-day operational matters.
