DGS Adds Five New Associates Across Practice Groups
Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has added five new associates who are admitted to practice law in Colorado: Kristin L. Arthur (Trial Department); Jessica Dangoia-Crandall (Finance & Acquisitions Department); Michael Golz (Natural Resources Department); Kelsey K. Johnson (Natural Resources Department); and Philip D. Nickerson (Trial Department). Their collective experience will further strengthen the firm’s capabilities when assisting clients with transactional matters and complex litigation.
Kristin L. Arthur: A former summer associate at DGS, Ms. Arthur will focus her practice on commercial litigation and appeals. She received her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and her B.F.A. from New York University. While in law school, Ms. Arthur was the managing editor of the Denver Law Review. After completing internships at three Colorado courts, she competed in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition, where she won awards for both her written and oral advocacy. Prior to joining DGS, Ms. Arthur served as a law clerk for the Honorable David M. Ebel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. She was also a law clerk and judicial assistant for Justice Brian D. Boatright of the Colorado Supreme Court.
Jessica Dangoia-Crandall: Ms. Dangoia-Crandall, a past summer associate at DGS, will focus her practice on general corporate matters, real estate matters, and merger and acquisition transactions. She received her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and her B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service. Before starting at DGS, Ms. Dangoia-Crandall externed for the Honorable Robert L. McGahey, Jr. of the Denver District Court and for Senior Administrative Law Judge Edwin Felter, Jr. of the Colorado Office of Administrative Courts. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a paralegal at a law firm in Jackson, Wyoming.
Michael Golz: A former summer associate at DGS, Mr. Golz will focus his practice on environmental law. He received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, his M.S. from Stanford University’s School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences, and his B.S. from Brown University. Before joining DGS, Mr. Golz was a postgraduate legal intern at Stanford Law School’s Environmental Law Clinic. During law school, he worked as a student attorney for the clinic and was a certified law clerk for the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office. He also served as co-director of Stanford’s Environmental Law Pro Bono Project, earning pro bono distinction for his work.
Kelsey K. Johnson: At DGS, Ms. Johnson’s practice will have a broad emphasis on the energy sector. She received her J.D. from Tulane University Law School and her B.A. from Villanova University. Prior to joining DGS, Ms. Johnson served as a law clerk for the Honorable Cynthia Mares of the 18th Judicial District in Colorado. She also worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Michael Hegarty of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and as an investigative intern in the Colorado Public Defender’s Office. During law school, she was a student attorney for Tulane’s Environmental Law Clinic. She also competed nationally with Tulane Law’s Mock Trial Team and served on the executive board of the Moot Court Program. Ms. Johnson was honored with Tulane’s “Outstanding Commitment to Service” award for completing over 400 hours of pro bono work.
Philip D. Nickerson: At DGS, Mr. Nickerson’s practice will focus on commercial litigation and disputes. In addition to holding leadership roles with the Colorado Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and the Sam Cary Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, he is an adjunct professor of International Practice and Procedure at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and a coach for its International Moot Court Team. Mr. Nickerson received his J.D./MBA from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and his BBA from Baylor University. Prior to joining DGS, he was an attorney at a boutique litigation firm in Denver, as well as a law clerk to the Honorable S. Kato Crews of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
