DGS Partner Peter H. Schwartz Receives 2021 CLC Outstanding Sustained Contribution Award
Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that Peter H. Schwartz has been named the recipient of the Colorado Lawyers Committee’s 2021 Outstanding Sustained Contribution Award. This top honor, presented at a ceremony yesterday, recognizes his longstanding support and extensive contributions to this 43-year-old nonprofit consortium of 80 Colorado law firms dedicated to providing and increasing opportunities for the disadvantaged in our community through effective pro bono legal advocacy, negotiation, and litigation. Over the past several decades, Mr. Schwartz has made a positive and indelible impact in the community through his work on the Business Advisory Committee, the Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic, the Nonprofit Working Group, and Project Homeless Connect. He is also a past chair of the Board and served on the CLC Executive Committee, the CLC Board of Directors, as well as in a number of other CLC leadership positions.
“Peter’s dedication to the profession and to the community inspires and motivates other lawyers to serve as a force for the greater good,” said DGS partner and pro bono coordinator Chris Lane. “We are pleased Peter is receiving this well-deserved lifetime achievement award.”
At DGS, Mr. Schwartz focuses his practice on corporate finance, public and private securities offerings, merger and acquisition transactions, mutual funds, and fund formation. He also counsels traditional for-profit, public benefit, and nonprofit clients on compliance and disclosure issues, as well as on general corporate and governance issues. His commitment to excellence has been consistently recognized by leading industry publications, such as The Best Lawyers in America© and Colorado Super Lawyers. In 2017, Mr. Schwartz became a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, joining a prestigious organization of attorneys, judges, law school faculty, and legal scholars whose public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. He has authored and co-authored articles in several journals, including Wall Street Lawyer. His involvement in the legal and broader communities also includes serving as a mentor for the Colorado Attorney Mentoring Program and chairing the Colfax Marathon Board of Directors from 2016 to 2018.
“The CLC is grateful for Peter’s leadership and legacy of making a positive difference in the business community,” said Connie Talmage, the CLC’s executive director. “It is a privilege to bestow on him the CLC’s highest honor, and we know that his future accomplishments will be similarly impactful.”
