DGS Ranks 17th in NLJ 500 Women’s Scorecard 2020

June 24, 2020

Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has ranked 17th in the NLJ 500 Women’s Scorecard 2020, with a Women in Law Score of 73.5. The Women’s Scorecard is produced as part of the annual NLJ 500 firm headcount report. Only the 350 largest participating firms are eligible for ranking in the Women’s Scorecard.

The Women’s Scorecard 2020 reflects diversity data based on a firm’s full-time equivalent (FTE) attorneys in 2019. The Women in Law Score is calculated by adding together the percentage of female attorneys and the percentage of female partners. In the event of a tie, the firm with the greatest proportion of female equity partners is awarded the higher ranking.

“DGS is committed to supporting women in the legal profession and in the communities in which we live and practice,” said DGS Co-Managing Partner Kristin Lentz. “We are pleased that The National Law Journal has recognized us as an industry leader in terms of the recruitment, retention, and promotion of women lawyers.”

DGS has a strong track record of upholding gender equality, having received the Women in Law Empowerment Forum Gold Standard Certification upon demonstrating that women represent a meaningful percentage of equity partners, leadership positions, governance and compensation committees, and most highly compensated partners. The DGS Women’s Network is open to all of the firm’s women attorneys and meets throughout the year. A dynamic component of this initiative is the Women in Leadership Lecture Series (WILLS), which features valuable perspectives on overcoming personal and professional obstacles on the path to leadership.

“When advocating for a more gender equal profession, we need to lead by example,” said Kathleen Schroder, who chairs the DGS Women’s Network. “We are proud to keep raising the bar higher for ourselves and for other firms.”

This is not the first time that the NLJ 500 has recognized the firm’s statistically proven commitment to gender equality: In 2019, DGS ranked 19th; in 2017, DGS ranked 21st. As the firm’s increasingly competitive rankings in the Women’s Scorecard indicate, the robust representation of women lawyers at DGS is a vital part of the firm’s business ethos.
