DGS Webinar: Carbon Capture, Utilization & Sequestration
Carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (“CCUS”) is an emerging clean climate technology that captures carbon emissions from power generation and other sources and either utilizes the captured carbon in other industries or permanently sequesters it underground. The emerging CCUS industry has recently benefited from the finalization of Section 45Q Tax Credits for CCUS. As a result of its success, agencies have begun to put regulatory policies and prices on carbon, though the monetization of these credits remains somewhat complex. State legislatures have also set out to add laws governing CCUS (while attempting to address pore space ownership questions) with varying degrees of success and clarity, while the EPA’s Class VI Well program is still in its early stages. Join DGS for an informative discussion on CCUS, which is proving to be a key area for both the oil and gas and clean energy industries.
The confirmed speakers for this program, which has been approved for one general Continuing Legal Education credit in the state of Colorado, are as follows:
- John Jacus, Partner, DGS
- Kathleen Pritchard, Associate, DGS
- Katie Schroder, Partner, DGS
