Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that TermScout, a legal tech company founded by DGS staff attorney Otto Hanson, has been selected for inclusion in the 2020 class of Techstars Boulder, which positions high-potential startups for long-term success. Each year, Techstars Boulder chooses 10 companies from among 1,000 applicants to join its three-month mentorship-driven “accelerator,” investing $120,000 in each company and providing them with access to the Techstars network for life. The program’s 124 alumni companies include DigitalOcean, Sphero, and SendGrid.
At DGS, Mr. Hanson is part of the Intellectual Property & Technology Group, which counsels all types of companies on issues spanning the acquisition, license, use, and general commercialization of technology and intellectual property assets to the structuring of complex transactions. In 2019, while still being employed by DGS, Mr. Hanson founded TermScout to reinvent how businesses assess risk in contracts.
“Otto is a dynamic asset to the firm,” said DGS partner Trent Martinet, who chairs the Intellectual Property & Technology Group. “We are thrilled that his entrepreneurial expertise is attracting national attention while also empowering DGS to better serve clients ranging from entrepreneurs and startups to established technology providers and companies that are at the forefront of leveraging technology in their industries.”
