Sybil R. Kisken and Ben Strawn will become partners of Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP effective January 1, 2017. Ms. Kisken and Mr. Strawn are both members of the firm’s Trial Department.

Sybil Kisken
Ms. Kisken’s practice focuses on employment and labor law, as well as education law, including Title IX, and municipal law, such as defending constitutional-related claims. She litigates cases in state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate level. Ms. Kisken also regularly defends clients who are being investigated by governmental agencies, including the EEOC, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Education (Office of Civil Rights), the Colorado Civil Rights Division, and the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment. In addition to her extensive litigation experience, she frequently advises clients regarding both routine and complex employment-related matters, such as personnel policies, investigations, executive contracts, separation agreements, discipline matters, medical-related issues, and allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Ms. Kisken also advises on employment and labor issues and participates in due diligence in connection with corporate acquisitions. She advises schools and post-secondary institutions on various legal matters. Ms. Kisken received her B.A. from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and graduated from the University of Arizona Law School, summa cum laude. She is licensed to practice in Colorado.
Ben Strawn
Mr. Strawn’s practice focuses on commercial and environmental litigation. He frequently represents businesses in the natural resources, engineering, and real estate industries. Since November 2015, Mr. Strawn has served as trial counsel in two federal jury trials, lead counsel in a two-week arbitration, and lead counsel for a state-court bench trial. In January and February 2016, he served as a special prosecutor through the Denver City Attorney’s Office’s Municipal Court Trial Advocacy Program where he prosecuted ten jury trials. Mr. Strawn also leads the firm’s participation in the Civil Case Pro Bono Panel Program administered by the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. He received his B.S. from the University of Oregon and his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law, magna cum laude. Before joining DGS, Mr. Strawn practiced employment litigation with an international law firm in San Francisco and then served as a law clerk to the Honorable Neil M. Gorsuch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He is licensed to practice in Colorado, California, and Montana.
