Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that it has been named among Law360’s Best Law Firms for Female Attorneys. Law360’s 2020 Glass Ceiling Report, released at the end of October, surveyed more than 300 U.S. firms about their demographic makeup as of December 31, 2019, using a methodology that grouped firms according to the number of attorneys employed. At DGS, which tied for 10th among participating U.S. law firms with 101 to 250 lawyers, nearly one-third of the firm’s partnership and more than half of non-partners were women.
“We are proud to be recognized as a leading law firm for female representation,” said Kathleen Schroder, who chairs the DGS Women’s Network. “We look forward to raising the bar even higher and to helping women shatter more glass ceilings in the legal profession and beyond.”
DGS has a strong track record of promoting gender parity, having consistently demonstrated that women form a meaningful percentage of equity partners, leadership positions, governance committees, and most highly compensated partners. The DGS Women’s Network, supported by the DGS Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, meets throughout the year and hosts the Women in Leadership Lecture Series (WILLS), which features valuable perspectives on overcoming personal and professional obstacles on the path to leadership.
According to Law360’s latest findings, women represent roughly 40% of attorneys at participating law firms, a number that has showed little growth over the past seven surveys. At the equity partner rank, women account for only an estimated 25% of the attorney workforce. The 2020 Glass Ceiling Report suggests that while these statistics are not as promising as they should be, firms like DGS are advancing female representation from within.
