Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that Kent A. Fischmann has joined the firm as a partner in our Finance & Acquisitions Department. He will continue to focus on intellectual property matters, particularly in the areas of trademarks and patents.
“We are excited to welcome Kent to the firm as we continue to expand our technology practice,” said DGS Co-Managing Partner Kristin Lentz. “Kent is an exceptional attorney who is deeply immersed in patent and other intellectual property law. His background in aerospace engineering and his diverse portfolio of IP experience are great additions to the services that we offer our clients.”
Mr. Fischmann is admitted to practice in Colorado and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has an extensive record of assisting clients in developing and executing strategies to safeguard their technology and to maximize the value of their intellectual property to investors. This often involves developing complementary patent and trade secret programs and protecting trademarks, prosecuting patent applications, conducting freedom to practice analyses, and providing counsel relating to intellectual property transactions.
As Trent Martinet, chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Group observed, “Kent strengthens our intellectual property capabilities—especially under patent law—in a number of industries, ranging from software and network security to aerospace and medical devices. Kent has advised numerous clients on ‘bet-the-company’ patent protection and prosecution strategies, and we are very pleased to have him at DGS.”
Prior to starting at DGS, Mr. Fischmann was a founding member of Marsh Fischmann & Breyfogle LLP and practiced in the firm’s Boulder office. He previously practiced at other law firms in Denver and Seattle, including one specializing in intellectual property law.
Mr. Fischmann holds a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law and a B.S.A.E. from the University of Colorado. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2008, earning the publication’s title of Lawyer of the Year (Patent Law, Boulder) in 2016. He has also been repeatedly named a Top Lawyer by 5280 magazine and a Colorado Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers.
