The past few years have seen a suite of new federal and state actions focused on the further regulation of air emissions from the oil and natural gas industry. Among other things, this panel discuss how these new regulations are affecting operators, focusing on BLM’s venting and flaring rule and how recent court rulings may impact the rule, as well as regulatory efforts at the state level to address oil and gas air emissions, primarily through Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) requirements. Finally, experts involved in helping companies review the design adequacy of their upstream facilities will present key findings from those efforts.
