Women In Leadership Lecture Series

October 17, 2018

POWER: What is it? How do you get it?
How should you use it?

Power has been defined as “the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events.” Certainly, people in the C-Suite and others who hold high ranking positions have power. But what about women, minorities, and junior employees who don’t have a seat at the table? Do they have power to create change within their organizations? And how can people with power use their influence effectively to push boundaries and achieve a more diverse and inclusive workplace? Please join us for a candid discussion with leaders from Starbucks Coffee Company, Bayer, and AvenueWest on strategies for obtaining power and using it successfully and ethically.

Speakers for this program will include:

  • Zabrina Jenkins, Managing Director, Starbucks Coffee Company
  • Molly Jones, Sr. Assistant General Counsel, Litigation for Bayer
  • Kimberly Hoyt Smith, Founder and Former CEO of AvenueWest Corporate Housing, Inc. and AvenueWest Global Franchise, LLC

This program has been approved for one Continuing Legal Education ethics credit in the State of Colorado.
