Emily L. Wasserman

Emily Wasserman is an associate at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP. Her practice focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation, intellectual property disputes, and counseling clients regarding their intellectual property rights. She frequently assists clients from a wide range of industries develop creative strategies and arguments for efficiently resolving disputes.

Ms. Wasserman maintains a robust pro bono practice and is active in the community. She currently serves on the Advisory Board for Silicon Flatirons, a center for students, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and professionals whose mission is to elevate the debate surrounding technology policy issues; support and enable entrepreneurship in the technology community; and inspire, prepare, and place students in these important areas. She previously participated in and served as a coach for the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation’s Impact Denver Program. She also served for several years on the Board of Directors for the Girls Athletic Leadership Schools of Denver, a tuition free, public, all-girls college preparatory middle and high school.

Ms. Wasserman is a member of the 2021 General Counsel Mentor Program. She was named among the “Ones to Watch” in the area of Commercial Litigation by Best Lawyers, an annual guide by publisher Woodward/White Inc. in 2021 and 2022.

Prior to joining DGS, she was a law clerk to Justice Brian D. Boatright of the Colorado Supreme Court. Ms. Wasserman received her J.D. from the University of

Colorado Law School, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and was the executive editor of the University of Colorado Law Review. During law school, she also interned for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and for then Chief Justice Michael L. Bender of the Colorado Supreme Court.

Representative Experience

• Obtained a jury verdict in favor of software client following five-day federal court trial in a case involving a dispute about IP ownership and copyright infringement.
• Represented companies from various industries, including technology and real estate, in trademark infringement lawsuits.
• Negotiated favorable settlements in various copyright infringement and other commercial matters.
• Successfully got claims against clients dismissed on motion to dismiss.
• Participated in the Denver City Attorney’s Municipal Court Trial Advocacy Program where she tried 11 cases.
