Even as technology revolutionizes our workplaces, homes, and communities, policy makers in Washington, DC propose new ideas nearly every day to further regulate the tech industry and dictate the way in which emerging technologies can be used. This presentation will provide a clear explanation of the issues, challenges, and what’s at stake in the most prominent tech policy debates, including data privacy, the regulation of artificial intelligence, the safety of online platforms, and the protection of tech-related supply chains, among other topics. The presentation will also highlight how these policy questions can affect businesses’ legal liabilities and lead to litigation, whether or not the business is in the technology industry.
